C2C(City-to-City): Mobilizing Knowledge for Urban Sustainability

The articles in this issue address the challenges of building better cities. Some urban leaders—from government or business or civil society—are incorporating sustainability principles into the design and construction of buildings, the renewal of urban transportation systems, the revamping of land use planning, the reshaping of governance, and introduction of energy and water conservation initiatives. Leading planners, architects, urban design specialists, and municipal decision makers from around the world are taking practical steps towards a sustainable future, and this magazine issue will look at some of these innovations within cities found in every corner of the world, from North to South and from East to West.
